Ahab...God doesn't like ugly

Let's talk about it.

Historical records indicate King Ahab was viewed by some as a strong and influential leader because of his military power and economic successes.

The Bible tells us that because of his actions and what he allowed, his reign was one of oppression, corruption, and injustice.

He was a morally and spiritually bankrupt leader who led Israel into worshipping a false god, instead of the true and living God.

He was greedy, weak--easily influenced and led, self-centered, emotionally immature, and morally corrupt.

You'd think nobody in their right mind would support that kind of leader, right? Some did, including prophets. Not the Lord's but Ahab's court prophets...the prophets of the false god.

In a showdown, the 450 prophets of the false god were no match for Elijah--the prophet of the true and living God. They were brought to an open shame, then disappeared.

Ahab reigned for 22 years. For 22 years, the people Israel endured his greed, corrupt leadership, oppression, sacrilege, and injustice.

He held an exalted position and probably considered himself to be untouchable, but his reign DID end.

🗣 Every road has an end.

🗣 There's nothing new under the sun.

🗣 Folk can make as many excuses for evil and corrupt leaders as they want and wrap those excuses in as much church speak and scripture as they dare, but God doesn't like ugly and does NOT approve of it. Period.

👩🏾‍🏫 God doesn't like ugly: The saying means God dislikes injustice, unjust actions (lying, bullying, cruelty, etc.), immorality, meanness, or spiteful behavior. It refers in no way to physical appearance.

Just keepin' it real...
