Don't Eat There!

Plates covered in cemented beans, spaghetti, dried up gravy, and/or something green you can't quite identify. A cup of soured milk. Glasses containing black hardened residue. The surface covered in a thick dark brown, sticky substance containing trapped baby roaches and flies. A bowl with some kind of nose wrinkling white liquid and a huge cockroach floating on the surface...

Would you willingly sit and eat 🍽 at this table?

We sit and eat at the table to maintain our strength, to get nourishment, for fellowship, to help each other, to build relationships, for comfort, for encouragement, and to maintain the family unit.

But...would you sit and eat at THIS table?

This table is filthy and messy! It's a bacteria breeding ground...a toxic nightmare. 🤮

If you eat at this table, you may very well pick up something that will make you severely ill or even kill you.

Again, would you sit and eat at this table?

I believe the answer to my question is a resounding NO! 🙅🏾‍♀️ Nobody would willing sit and eat at a table like this.

Church is the place folk gather to worship, hear the Word of God (eat), fellowship, build relationships, soul healing, and spiritual deliverance.

Some Churches are as messy, filthy, and toxic as this table. The longer you sit and eat at that table, the more emotionally out of control, distressed, uneasy, burdened, exhausted, unhappy, etc. you feel. You become ill (soul sick) from ingesting toxic filth from that table.

Folk like to say there's no perfect church, because there're no perfect people. They're 💯. That's absolutely true, but some churches should have ⚠️☣🚫 posted on the doors.

If a church is so full of mess and toxic filth that it makes you soul sick, there's a serious problem at that church and it probably originates from and/or is nurtured by (by turning a blind eye) the food preparer in the kitchen (the pulpit and Pastor). That's a whole nother discussion.

If your church is making you soul sick, stop sitting and eating at that table.

Just keepin' it real...
