It Doesn't Wash
Christians are justifying voting for Donald Trump by saying they're voting for a President, not a pastor. Statements like those get scoffed at and generate push back against the Church because the following is how their actions are really viewed: If the person you vote for is a murderer, you are supporting a murderer. If they're a serial killer, you're supporting a serial killer. If they're a bigot/racist, you're supporting a bigot/racist. If they're a rapist, you're supporting a rapist. If they're a habitual liar, you're supporting a habitual liar. If they're a nasty and contentious person, you're supporting a nasty and contentious person. If they're a cheat and con, you're supporting a cheat and con. So...these quips flying around as justification just don't wash, especially with the world...you know, those souls we're supposed to be winning for Christ. Just keepin' it real...
