So right is wrong and wrong is now...right?

Make it make sense! 🤯

Let's talk about it...☕☕☕

It was disclosed that Bill Clinton got up to shenanigans with grown women who were not his wife, then lied about it.

Evangelicals said his actions demonstrated a lack of moral character that made him unfit to serve as president. They emphasized the importance of fidelity and honesty in public officials. They rallied for his impeachment.

At that time, it was perfectly correct and Biblical to call out the wrongdoings of the President for the Bible informs us in Acts 5 we should submit to authority but be prepared to obey God, not man.

An aside 👩🏾‍🏫: That word "submit" deserves a thorough study and break-down all on its own. It's being used by some as a tool to say, "Authority is given by God, those in authority can do/say whatever they want and it's right", "Do what I say with no questions asked", "I'm the law around here and what I say goes", "Check your brains and your Bibles at the doors of the church and do/think as I say", "Don't you dare call out my wrongdoings, I'm a Man/Woman of God...The Lord said touch not my anointed!", "I'm the man of this house, do as I say", "I'm in charge here and it's my God given authority to punish--beat up physically and/or emotionally--my family"...I'll say this and leave it along: Some of those using "submit" as a tool of suppression are mean, hateful, narcissistic, sinful, sadistic, dictatorial, and/or have the leadership capabilities of a rock. They declare because they have a position of leadership,  you're supposed to shut up about what they do and just do as they say. If you dust off your scale, do some weighing, and walk away from these leaders, something is wrong with you...not them.

It was disclosed that the dude currently occupying the Oval Office is a serial adulterer, a rapist, and suspected of abetting (if not participating in) the breaking of little girls. He's also lied about all of it.

A whole lot of Evangelicals call him the second Christ, the lesser of two evils, sent by God, and/or a Man of God. Not only did they rally to elect him for a second term while knowing of his shenanigans, they still support him or are considered to still be his supporters because we can't hear their dissent on his conduct. Some are still loudly proclaiming their loyalty to him. We certainly aren't hearing their rallying call for his impeachment.

Now, it's no longer correct and Biblical to call out the wrongdoings of the President for according to Romans 13 and I Peter 2 we must submit to governmental authority for it is established by God.

And another thing...Christians promoted (some are still doing it) the dude's wife as a classy woman at the same time that pictures of her showing her private bits to the world were/are flying around everywhere on the news and social media. What's up with that? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Even Russia has flashed the photos during their prime time news.

The difference in the Evangelical response to the shenanigans of these two men is glaring. What changed? 🤔 Is there a new Bible that teaches a different moral standard? Is it because Bill is a Democrat and Dude is not? Did What Would Jesus Do (WWJD) change? Are Christians now supposed to sit at tables we would've flipped in the past with quickness? Did the Lord change up on us? 🤯

The willingness of Evangelicals to overlook the shenanigans of the dude occupying the Oval Office has damaged the long-term credibility of the American Christian witness. To sum it up: It slapped a huge neon sign on the Church--for the world tries to paint all of us with the same brush--flashing HYPOCRITES.

Is it any wonder folk are giving the Church 🤚🏾 and 👀 when they preach morality, today?

I applaud any Christians and/or denominations who respect authority AND are brave enough to stand flat footed and call wrong out regardless of who's sitting in the Oval Office, the party affiliation of the perpetrating officials...or who's standing/sitting in the pulpit.

Just keepin' it real...
